The I-61, one of Japan’s cleanest-looking submarines, supposedly with range enough to cross the Pacific and back without refueling, was sunk last week. But Japan did not go to war over it. No protests were sent to Moscow. Reason: I-61 was sunk by a Japanese warship, with which it collided.
