Sport: Danger Removed

One of the most dangerous sporting events in the world is the annual Thousand Mile automobile race round Italy— from Brescia to Brescia, over roads dotted with ordinary traffic and lined with thousands of spectators. When, during the race last week, two of the 143 roaring racers zoomed off the road, killing ten bystanders and injuring 32, the Italian Government decreed an end to the race they instituted twelve years ago as a test of speed and daring.
