The first job Philip Sidney Hanna ever had, 19 years ago, was on the Economist, Chicago financial weekly now owned by Knowlton Lyman ("Snake") Ames, built up by his eldest son, "Snake" Jr. (now publisher of the Chicago Evening-Post), and published, with the Chicago Journal of Commerce, by younger son John Dawes Ames. Last week Phil Hanna returned to the same scene as editor of the Journal of Commerce. He will also have much to say in the Economist.
