Buddhist Emperor of Annam, went tidings of comfort and joy. Marie's question to the Holy Father: "Would the Church sponsor her Buddhist-Catholic marriage if she gave her girl children to the Church, her boy children to the Buddhist dynasty of Annam" (TIME, March 19)? The Pope's answer, announced unofficially from Rome by way of Paris: "Yes."
