To "preach the gospel of international understanding and disarmament, of goodwill and peace," The Campus of the College of the City of New York last week editorialized for the foundation of a college Peace Department. More optimistic than many another Armistice Day editorial, it declared that adequate machinery for the abolition of war is available. So are "capable, peace-loving men." Let Norman Thomas and Bertrand Russell, both pacific Socialists, be chosen for the faculty of such a peace department. . . . C. C. N. Y. rippled...
