In Flint, Mich., last fortnight State Troopers bashed striking employes of Fisher Body Division of General Motors Corp. with clubs, arrested 23 men and two women. The strikers said they were angry because of wage reductions. The company maintained that no reductions had been made or contemplated. According to the strike committee, men's wages were cut on June 24 from $1 an hour to 40¢ and 50¢ an hour, women's wages in the upholstery department from 65¢ to 75¢ an hour to $1.12 and $1.20 per day.
