Music: In Baltimore

An interesting project is under way in Baltimore—the formation of a civic opera company. The De Feo Opera Company, a traveling organization which will play a stay in Baltimore in May, is to be utilized. This troupe, it is purposed, will give its regular series of operas, save that on one evening and one afternoon each week, while still using its orchestra and chorus, it will give the leading roles to Baltimore singers. Thus, a beginning in the way of Baltimore opera will be made, the project can be continued until a permanent city institution has been formed and visiting stars can be invited to sing along with the Baltimoreans.
