PROHIBITION: Co-defendant

The New York Public Library developed clay feet last week. It holds a second mortgage on property occupied by the Melody Club, Manhattan joy parlor, often afflicted with Prohibition trouble. As holder of the mortgage, the library is co-defendant in a padlock action brought by the U. S. Government.
