POLITICAL NOTES: The Party of Babel

The enumeration of the Communists in the U. S. is set forth by the American Labor Year Book issued last week by the Rand School of Social Science, radical institution of Manhattan. The number of members of the Workers' party, which is the Communist organization, is 16,325. [In 1924, there were 17,389.] Of this number 2,282 speak English. The party's foreign language auxiliaries include 6,410 Finns, 1,447 Jews, 1,109 southern Slavs.
