Pious. Humble. Quiet. Intelligent. These are words used by friends and acquaintances to describe Ali Gufron, a.k.a. Mukhlas, alleged terrorist mastermind and, until last week, the most wanted man in Indonesia. Here's another word to add to the list: arrogant.
