ABC's newest sitcom believes in the old theory that you can discern the state of the economy from hemlines--in this case, men's hemlines. In Work It, two unemployed St. Louis men dress in drag to work in a pharmaceutical-sales office because the "mancession" has sucked up all the work fit for menfolk.

Work It may already be the worst show of 2012, and not just because its drag gags are cringey (three words: "My Humps" montage), its attitude sexist and its premise dubious and dated. (Men in fact claimed twice as many new jobs in 2011 as women did.) The concept--men...
