Corporate-jet travel to hot vacation spots is on the rise

  • In this shaky economy, many big corporations say they aren't ready to shell out the cash needed to create U.S. jobs. But that hasn't held them back from splashing out on their private jets. After a steep drop-off post--financial crisis as corporations cut back, business-jet travel ticked up 6.2% last year. And many of those trips were to ritzy resort destinations. It's not unusual for business to be conducted in swank resort towns, but the steady stream of some companies' employees to top vacation spots is raising eyebrows about the cost. The priciest destinations? Jaunts to Indonesia's and Australia's coastlines cost roughly $50,000 apiece.
