In your cover story, "How to Live 100 Years," you suggest living to 100 is a worthy ideal [Feb. 22]. Not always. Before she went blind, was confined to bed for several years and passed away at 91, my mother, who lived in a distant city, confided in me that she wished she could die. "I've outlived my close friends and relatives," she said. "I'm the only one left." Why live to 100 if life is miserable?
