When conservative commentator Bruce Bartlett was axed by the National Center for Policy Analysis, a right-wing think tank, for his new book accusing George W. Bush of betraying the Reagan legacy, bloggers on both sides banded in disbelief. "Bush finally unites us all," mused THOUGHT MECHANICS. On the left, A POLITICAL MISERY crowed, "It sure is nice to see that those who used to support the murderous moron squatting in the White House are beginning to break away." Even right-minded PRESTOPUNDIT had to concede: "A lot of conservatives are exhausted by the Bush presidency, and some of us are disgusted."
