Already it has put American troops in harm's way in Afghanistanand now the southern Philippines, where last week an American MH-47 Chinook helicopter went down in the shark-infested waters between southern Negros and northern Mindanao after ferrying soldiers and supplies to fight on the small island of Basilan.
