Who says fashionistas live on nothing but fizzy water and green leaves? Around the world, top designers are moving from couture to cuisine and opening chic eateries with plenty of good things on the menu. Here are four fashionable offerings.

Cox Cookies & Cake, London
Top shoemaker Patrick Cox's patisserie dishes up baked goods with a suitably edgy twist, given its location above a sex shop at 13 Brewer Street in hip Soho. Try the vanilla cupcake with a white-chocolate Marilyn Monroe, or the Valrhona chocolate cupcake with a dark-chocolate skull.

Chiado Unique, Lisbon
At 8 Largo do Picadeiro in the Chiado district — Lisbon's old town — local designer Fátima Lopes brings sophistication to provincial classics like bacalao broth (served with poached egg and goat cheese). A meeting ground for celebrities and hip young things.

Cafe Marc Jacobs, Milan
When the Marc by Marc Jacobs store at 6 Piazza del Carmine shuts at 8 p.m., a sliding wall of blue glass closes off the café, which then stays open to welcome revelers at its white marble bar until 2 a.m. Got the munchies? Try the popular chicken club sandwich.

Ristorante, Dubai
This is the centerpiece of the eight restaurants at the Armani Hotel Dubai. It may be prosaically named, but Ristorante offers far-from-mundane interpretations of Tuscan cuisine (try the rabbit pappardelle or the buckwheat casarecce with creamy ricotta) and one of the city's most extensive wine lists, all at predictably stratospheric prices.
