However cautious the networks may be, set manufacturers are going right along with FM. This November about a dozen companies will put new models on the market. Swankest FM instruments now being sold are the custom-built models put out by Scott Radio, and Stromberg-Carlson's de luxe sets. Prices on these top-notchers range from $169 to $700. Liveliest of the current FM set-makers is Stromberg-Carlson, which lists nine models, from $69.95 UPMost sales are in the $175 class, and to date an estimated 5,000 sets have been sold, most equipped to take both FM and amplitude programs.
