Mo Farah

Amid London's successful hosting of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, Mo Farah helped give Great Britain its greatest night in Olympic history. On Aug. 4, Farah was one of three British track athletes to take gold within an hour of one another; Farah's winning charge down the stretch of the 10,000-m race electrified the Olympic stadium. A week later, Farah clinched an awe-inspiring double with a victory in the 5,000 m. But Farah, 29, who was born in Somalia and moved to England when he was 8, did more than pile up hardware. His epic performance was hailed as a victory for multiculturalism.
