Josef Albers, Homages to the Square

German artist Josef Albers (1888–1976) was one of the art world's great color theorists, as is evident from his vibrant prints for Hèrmes. Albers' Homages to the Square pieces were originally painted as oils on panel over the course of 25 years, starting in 1949. In 2008, Hèrmes chose this series as the first artist collaboration in their Editeur collection.
