But recently, shock-rocker Ted Nugent has made headlines for his staunch support of conservative causes and his profanity-laden attacks on high profile liberals. He fell in hot water by not so gently suggesting that then-Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama should insert his machine guns into various bodilyorifices. But the backlash against such statements has not slowed down his high-profile advocacy for 2nd Amendment rights or the Republican Party. He has only ramped up his support for the right this election cycle, arguing that the 2012 election is a battle for America's soul. "The whole world sucks, but America still sucks less," he said at a Republican fundraiser in February. "But with this administration, we're catching up."
