José Andrés

Age: 42
Occupation: Activist, chef

Andrés has won virtually every culinary award in the U.S., worked for Ferran Adrià at the legendary elBulli and wields considerable influence as the owner of destination restaurants in Washington (Jaleo, Minibar), Los Angeles (Bazaar) and Las Vegas. But the Spain native is also an activist in chef's whites: his collaboration with DC Central Kitchen, which fights hunger and poverty by teaching culinary job skills, inspired him to establish World Central Kitchen — an international think tank finding creative solutions for feeding the world's hungry.
