Joe Frazier

Joe Frazier did not back down from anyone. He would not have backed down even from King Kong. When I fought him, I knocked him down six times, and he was still coming after me. That's the way he was.

He was the hardest-working man in boxing, and he was also the most misunderstood. For years, people looked at Muhammad Ali as a hero, a revolutionary — so if you were trying to beat Ali in the ring, you were trying to crush the revolution. That's the idea people had of Frazier. But Frazier didn't even know a revolution existed. He was just happy to put food on the table for his family, to get them a Cadillac.

Muhammad Ali is a great man because of what he had to say. Joe Frazier was a great man because of what he did. He fought. He fought.
