Bronies

A show whose typical audience is four-year-old girls found a new (and highly opposing) demographic this year: adult males. And, no, this isn't an 'I'll watch it with my young daughter' craze — the men who watch My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic are as enthusiastic as any true fan, proudly proclaiming their love for the show's magical adventures, the vibrant rainbow colors and the anthropomorphic horses online. Since the show's debut last October, the covertly-named website Equestria Daily has indexed the fan culture created by the show's older fans, but the meme only rode into mainstream this year after pictures of the colorful ponies started flooding 4chan and other internet haunts. The Bronies have kept their affection strong, creating fan videos (including pony parodies of both Inglorious Bastards and The Watchmen). Needless to say, the show was renewed for a second season.
