G-Unit

Rapper 50 Cent sure does love his G's — both the letter and his homies. In fact, he loves G's so much that he stutters the letter in almost every song he records, proclaiming "G-G-G-G-G-Unit!" — just in case you forgot whom you were listening to. 50 Cent is the leader of said G-Unit, a hip-hop group that hit the music scene in 2002. Short for Guerrilla Unit, the group's members, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo, grew up rapping together in Jamaica, Queens. The group has had a fair share of success, with its first studio album, Beg for Mercy, going two-time platinum in the U.S. in 2003. But since then, G-Unit's star has faded. While there are still artists on 50's G-Unit Records label, we haven't heard much noise from the group itself since its 2008 album T.O.S.: Terminate on Sight flopped.
