Martha's Vineyard

Martha's Vineyard is stereotyped as the type of place one "summers," an isle off the coast of Massachusetts where socialites and liberal elites can rub gingham-covered elbows and sail their worries away. The stereotype isn't hurt by Democratic icons flocking there like Republicans to a Second-Amendment rally. The Kennedys have long had an estate on the "Vin-yahd." Bill Clinton spent summers on the island during his presidency. And Barack Obama is furthering the tradition by heading there this month, where he'll stay at the same swanky 28-acre compound his family has rented for the past two years.
