Cotton Candy
This brightly colored spun sugar has been a cornerstone of the American fair diet for more than 100 years. The woven delicacy was first sampled by the American palate in 1904 during the St. Louis World's Fair. Sold as 'Fairy Floss,' fair goers couldn't get enough, which means teeth have been quivering in fear ever since. The name was eventually changed to the iconic 'Cotton Candy,' the cloud-like tasty fluff we still deploy for social sugar highs and the swaddling of Katy Perry.
