Piers Morgan

CNN Host, Former News of the World Editor

At age 28, Piers Morgan became the youngest ever editor of the storied News of the World tabloid in 1994; two years later, he became editor of Britain's Daily Mirror. A noted British TV personality, he's currently a judge on the ABC reality show America's Got Talent and host of the CNN program Piers Morgan Tonight (CNN is owned by Time Warner, which also owns TIME and TIME.com). Morgan has tried to stay out of the spotlight during the hackgate affair and has consistently denied any phone hacking took place during his years as editor. He faced his strongest questioning yet during a heated on-air exchange with British MP Louise Mensch in which she alleged he had in fact boasted of doing so in his 2005 autobiography, The Insider (Mensch apparently misquoted his statements in the book). Morgan called the accusation an "absolute, blatant lie" and "a deliberate and outrageous attempt to smear my name."
