'Get off My Phone!'

It's nearly impossible to get through this five-minute segment of Beck's radio show without feeling abused and terrified. And that's as an independent listener. Imagine what it was like for the woman who called in to discuss health care in July 2009. Fine, she started out by saying to Beck: "I think you better pick your head up and put it back on your shoulders because it's rolling all over the ground right now." Not the best way to start a conversation with someone known for being slightly unstable and defensive. But Beck gives her the benefit of the doubt and allows her to state her case. He responds in a gentlemanly tone — until he doesn't. His responses are intermittently and uncontrollably explosive and angry, snarling even. He manages to calm down for a minute, but before long he's shouting at the caller, telling her to "Get off my phone, you little pinhead!"
