When Beck got a crew together — a former CIA agent, a retired soldier, a guy Stephen Colbert aptly compared to Gargamel and his own hyperbolic imagination — for a round table discussion of doomsday scenarios, he showcased what his show did best: planted seeds of fear in the hearts and minds of his viewers.
