Lyonel Feininger: "At the Edge of the World"

Born in New York City in 1871, Feininger immigrated to Germany at 16 and remained there until the Nazis made it impossible to stay. His knife-edged take on Cubism, combined with his fundamentally romantic nature, produced pictures that were brittle and dreamy at the same time. 6/30–10/16
