The founding editor of D.C. satire site Wonkette and of TIME's own Swampland blog, Ana Marie Cox, who now writes for GQ, has never wanted for wit, snark or savvy. The Beltway tribe speaks a language all its own, and it takes someone as fluent as Cox to so completely pick apart Washington's foibles 140 characters at a time. Her tweets often stray into puppy pictures and pop culture, but her 1.4 million followers don't seem to mind.
