A Famous Quote, Misquoted
"Winning isn't everything," Packers Head Coach Vince Lombardi once said, "it's the only thing." Except, he didn't really say it. In an instance of a famous "quote" being condensed and revised for posterity, Lombardi's "Winning" speech goes a little differently: "Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all the time thing." While there are other quotes of Lombardi saying something along these lines about what it takes to be successful, it appears he never said anything as snappy as the oft-misquoted quote.
