Best Sound Editing

Nominees:
Inception (WINNER)
Toy Story 3
TRON: Legacy
True Grit
Unstoppable

The chugging of trains (Unstoppable), the gunfire of western hombres (True Grit), the rattle of video games (TRON: Legacy), the screams of playthings heading for a holocaust (Toy Story 3): what fun the sound editors must have had working on these movies. Pixar films have been Oscar-nominated for Best Sound Editing five times, winning only in 2005 for The Incredibles. The other films too will bow before the plush carpet of Inception's aural effects. With The King's Speech not short-listed here (one of only three categories for which it was plausibly eligible but deprived of a nomination), Inception looks like a shoo-in.
