TIME photographer Yuri Kozyrev documents the final days of the First Battalion, 116th Infantry in Iraq. Kozyrev, who had been covering the U.S. war effort in Iraq since its very beginning, boarded the plane that would carry the soldiers home to make this frame (then exited before take-off).
