Bridalplasty Bombs

Take every bad reality-show concept — Competitions! Catfights! Body dysmorphia! — roll them into one tawdry package, and the result is Bridalplasty, an E! reality series in which 12 brides-to-be compete to win plastic-surgery procedures before their big day. Because, as the trailer says, "Every bride wants to look perfect on her wedding day — but some may need some extra help." In the series, the women leave their fiancés and move into a mansion together for four months. Each week a surgical procedure is offered as a prize, and the last woman standing is awarded a plethora of surgeries as well as her dream wedding. In the oh-so-reality-TV dramatic ending, the first time the groom sees his bride's extreme overhaul is when he lifts her veil at the end of the aisle. Now that's romantic. Or, you know, terrifying. Thankfully, even with all the controversy surrounding this ill-conceived show, the Nov. 28 premiere garnered fewer than 1 million viewers.
