New Twitter Design

Twitter has always been a site with a lot of users and a lot of content but few ways of making money. As part of a new push toward profitability — including Twitter's launch of keyword-based "sponsored tweets" in certain sections of its site this year — the much neglected site received an overhaul. The goal? To increase the amount of time people spend on and the likelihood that they'll click on a sponsor's message. Early returns were encouraging, although the refreshed Twitter officially remains in beta. We'll leave the final verdict to 2011.
