Ken Buck Kicks Off a Gender Debate

Colorado Senate candidate Ken Buck certainly picked the right venue for his footwear-related critique of primary opponent Jane Norton. Billed by its hosts as the "most politically incorrect event of the year," the Independence Institute's Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms party was Buck's backdrop as he brought gender (and shoes) into the race. When asked by an attendee why she should vote for him, Buck answered, "Because I do not wear high heels." Norton cried foul, but Buck insisted the remark was fair game — she had cut an ad accusing him of relying on outside groups to do his dirty work, mocking him for not being "man enough" to run his own negative ads.
