A Colbert Christmas

In 2008, the famously conservative Colbert donned his yuletide apparel for a very unorthodox orthodox Christmas special. A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift Of All! debuted on Comedy Central in November and, in Colbert's signature fashion, sharply mocked variety-type specials of Christmas past. And he did it all without a politically correct "Happy Holidays" in sight. Satirical carols and give-me-a-break understandings of the "true meaning of Christmas" pelt traditional and modern seasonal entertainment with one quip after another — all with help from special guests like Elvis Costello, Willie Nelson and Feist. Still, with all proceeds from iTunes and DVD sales donated to Feeding America, it looks like Colbert wrapped his spoof with the true meaning of Christmas after all.
