University of California

Week of Mar. 19, 1965
At the University of California, Berkeley, a "handful of cause-hunting students and some off-campus beatniks" seize the public-address system in a free-speech protest. Three students are arrested. Four fraternity boys walk across campus, each wearing one letter of an objectionable word on the back of his sweatshirt. If confronted, they simply scramble the letters.
