A number of hurdles kept the masses from adopting digital cameras from the outset, including price and the inability to share photos easily. Sony addressed the sharing problem by allowing photos to be saved to a 3.5-inch floppy disk. It also allowed photographers to shoot as many photos as they had disks and made sharing those images as simple as possible. Picture quality was a different story, though.
