Hamilton Pulsar

For centuries, mechanical gears have powered timepieces as large as clock towers and as small as pocket watches. Inspired by Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, the first digital electronic watch was born. With red LEDs and an 18-karat-gold case, the Pulsar from the Hamilton Watch Co. retailed for $2,100.
