TiVo
Trying to program a VCR to record a show was nearly impossible. TiVo changed the way we watched TV by giving us control of when we watched TV. We were no longer forced to rush home for fear of missing our favorite programs. TiVo and the accompanying DVRs that have been released since 1999 have allowed us to watch TV on our terms. All you had to do was hit a few buttons, and an entire season would be recorded without a second thought. Sure, we can watch TV shows online these days, but 11 years ago, TiVo was a godsend.
