Hugh Grant, Not a Gentleman

"What the hell were you thinking?" That was the now unforgettable question from Tonight Show host Jay Leno when Hugh Grant went on the program in 1995 after his arrest (alongside a prostitute) for lewd conduct in a public place. Grant was arrested two weeks before he was initially scheduled to appear on Leno but nonetheless kept his word to discuss the scandal and promote his new movie, Nine Months. But Grant's honesty-is-the-best-policy approach helped mend his reputation and kept his career in Hollywood afloat.
