Das Rheingold

Anytime an opera company launches a new production of Wagner's epic four-opera cycle, Der Ring des Nibelungen, it's big news. But when that company is New York City's Metropolitan Opera — and when the sets by Robert Lepage are so heavy they require extra beams under the stage — it's really big news.
