Foals

Foals initially gained fame with hard-charging singles like "Cassius" and "Balloons," off the band's 2008 album Antidotes — a cauldron of heavy guitars and barking vocals courtesy of lead singer and Oxford graduate Yannis Philippakis. But on its second studio album, Total Life Forever, the band has taken a more tender and thoughtful approach to songwriting while retaining some of its original spirit. In 2008 Foals signed to the U.S. label Sub Pop Records, home to indie rockers the Shins.
