A November to Remember
This Web video from the Republican Governors Association belongs to the world of action-movie trailers, a place where deep-voiced men rasp about impossible odds and dangerous liaisons over thunderous refrains of "O Fortuna." The tagline "Remember November" — an apparent reference to either Guy Fawkes or V for Vendetta — fits well with the video's themes of tyranny and political upheaval. Throw in the flashy editing and slick graphics and you've got one cinematic ad. The epic preview is warranted too: there are 37 governors' seats up for grabs this cycle, and at least a third of those races are still regarded as toss-ups. Let the countdown begin.
