Fossil Fuels Beer

When making his creation, medical mycologist Raul Cano took a page out of Jurassic Park. Seeking to develop a new type of antibiotic, Cano had tried to revivify ancient microbes from an amber-entombed bee. That proved unsuccessful, but it led him to a better idea: beer, and the subsequent founding of Fossil Fuels Brewing Co. The company develops its signature ales based on an ancient yeast Cano first found in fossilized resin that dates back about 25 million to 45 million years. The Washington Post style section's review of Fossil Fuels' wheat beer deemed it "smooth and spicy, excellent with chicken strips." We sure hope it doesn't go extinct anytime soon.
