Tennessee Testimony

April 23, 2010
In Knoxville, Tenn., Palin testifies against David Kernell, the 22-year-old charged with hacking the then governor's Yahoo! e-mail account during the 2008 presidential campaign. On the witness stand, Palin tells jurors that her family and friends' photos and phone numbers were publicized as a result of the hacking, and that exposed personal e-mails intensified the rumors surrounding her marriage and children. One day earlier, Bristol testifies that she received harassing calls and text messages as a result of the hacking. On April 30, Kernell is found guilty on two of the four charges against him: unauthorized access of a computer and obtaining information illegally, and obstruction of justice. Palin praises the ruling and compares the case to Watergate. Meanwhile, Kernell's lawyers request a retrial.
