The Big Book

Forget the Bible. Alcoholics Anonymous is the central text for AA members. Called "the Big Book," it was written by co-founder Wilson and first published in 1939, before the group even had the AA name. It contained what would become the famous 12 steps, along with personal stories. True to its moniker, the current edition runs 576 pages.
