Since Hollywood hardly bothers to make eruptive love stories that don't involve vampires, we may as well let an Italian director (Luca Guadangnino) cast an English actress (the great, fearless Tilda Swinton) as an unhappy Russian wife whose passion buds open when a younger man serves her a decent plate of shrimp. Grand opera or soap opera, take your pick.
